Pet Grooming in Chesapeake, VA

From shampoos and hair cuts to show quality styling, pedicures, skincare, and moisturizing treatments, your pampered pet will go home looking and feeling great! A bath includes bathing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and anal gland expression. We finish with a bandana or bow.

Pet Bath

Highlands Veterinary Center is a clean, safe environment where pets will receive baths with veterinary-grade shampoos and conditioners tailored to their skin’s needs while having access to a groomer capable of providing their desired hairstyles.

Pet Ear Cleaning

Ear cleaning is a simple procedure where we use a pet-approved ear cleaning solution and paper towel to clean your pet’s ears. Our staff is highly trained in the anatomy of your pet’s ear to appropriately and safely clean without damaging the ear canal or ear drum.

Pet Anal Sac Expression

Anal glands are sacs on the inside of your pet’s rectum. They produce an excretion with a scent that marks their feces. They are normally expressed as your pet passes feces, but they can become clogged and need to be manually expressed on occasion.

When we express your pet’s anal glands, we are also able to feel for any abnormalities or signs of infection. We make sure to clear out the glands and clean up afterward completely, so your pet’s rear is fresh and smell-free.

Pet Clipping Fur

Some dogs have a lot of fur in the ear canal. This fur traps wax and debris, which can cause irritation and ear infections. We can quickly pluck out the fur, helping reduce the chance of infection.

Pet Shave Down

Pets scheduled for a shave down will receive the same deep cleansing bath and massage, in addition to gently shaving their coat. Typically the head and tail are left long unless otherwise requested. Please feel free to discuss how you would like your pet shaved with our groomers, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Pet De-Shedding Treatments

Some pet coats are likely to have matting or debris, which can harbor skin irritations, insects, or parasites. De-Shedding Treatments help promote healthy fur regrowth, regulates body temperature, and keep the skin clean.

Pet Nail Trimming

Is your dog clicking around the house, or is your cat scratching you? We are here to help. We offer nail trims, making sure to cut the nails as short as possible without damaging the quick (the blood supply to the nail). Regular nail trims improve nail health. They also allow us to check the nails and paws for any potential problems.
